Saturday, August 22nd Bart Budwig + Gillian Grogan TICKETS !

Bart Budwig is a son of Idaho, a cosmic country crooner, a rousing trumpet player, and cryin’-style soul singer. His music is made up of seemingly incongruous parts; thrum & strum country rhythms, jazz guitar melodies, R&B vocals. When Bart sings he draws out words into meditative mantras, whole note neologisms that keep you hanging on until his raspy voice trails off in a ragged edge.

“Sometimes when Bart sings, I forget what we’re talking about. I’m sure he knows though. I trust him. He sounds like John Prine, plays like Hoyt Axton, and looks like well… Bart Budwig. He’s a cosmic country lawn gnome.” – Sean Jewell, American Standard Time

Gillian Grogan is opening the show, a NorCal indie, avant-folk artist is  hitting the road this summer on the Bloom Or Bust Tour in support of her new studio single for “Ants In The Garden” – the song that took the NPR Tiny Desk Contest by storm last year with a treehouse performance that left many in tears and was one of the few finalists featured on NPR. This 50-date, 20-state garden-themed tour is littered with unique and fleeting duo and trio performances featuring local musicians across the country, offering an early sneak peek of the songs and stories comprising her much-anticipated sophomore record, Honey Moon. The Bloom Or Bust Tour also launches the 30-day, all-or-nothing Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign to finance the artful and independent release of Honey Moon this coming year.
